Prog Metal fans check these new releases out:
1) Daedalus - Motherland Super tight progressive metal with plenty of chops. Nice keys within the metal context. Certainly DT-like, but Deadalus more than stand-up on their own.
2) 66 Crusher - Blackest Day I hadn't heard of these guys before, but once I did I went out immediately to buy both this new release and their previous Truth Unmasked. 66 Crusher has bits of contemporary prog, touches of trash, and a Redemption-like vibe. The vocals remind me of Matt Marinelli of Borealis. This is definitely music with a sense of urgency. Super cool name for a band, too.

3) Signum Regis - The Eye of Power Smoking hot symphonic metal from eastern Europe. Some really terrific shredding going on here.
4) Across Tundras - Sage Not really progressive metal, but this band is blusey, doomy primitive, and trance-producing. Package-wise this is about as simple as it gets. The only thing I am not sure about is the mix.

Hope you enjoy.
