????????

What's the old saying? The silence is deafening?

No response to official numbers or even thoughts from promoters makes one think the fest was a bust.

I personally was quite disappointed with the direction the fest has taken the last few years. I've always enjoyed a "northern" alternative to ProgPower which makes travel much cheaper and less hassle. Granted I respect the fact that the festival wants to diversify, but is to much diversity a good thing? HOnestly I'd be less inclined to go to a festival that features one or two bands I want to see and 7 -8 bands I have little interest in seeing as opposed to a ProgPower type festival where I might like 2-3 bands and openly listen to the other 7-8 that I'm not familiar with or have at least checked out on myspace. The eclectic mix of bands (or at least bands I don't care for) makes it harder to justify coming down 3 days and spending $$$.

As always will keep 2011 open for consideration. One thing I would like to see and I know it's been touched on the GateXII, announce the acts earlier!!! It would definately allow more time to discover bands that I'm unfamiliar with!
