Hey sneapsters,

I have a (still)problem with my 5150 blockletter,
The amp doenst go nearly as loud as it should.
You all know this.....1 makes the neighbours cry.

Well the problem is like I said that the amp is not going that loud anymore and the more I turn it up, the more I am only left with midhigh/high fq.

All the tubes are burning so I don;t know if it's a tube thing, allthough it certainly feels that way.

Someone on here already suggested that the fxloop might be dirty, I tried plugging cables in multiple times but still the problem isn't solved.

Does this problem sound familiar to anyone?

I hope this vid catches the idea;

Wasn't this same exact post made a while back?

This may sound dumb, but do you have the footswitch hooked up? There's no way to switch between the FX Loop (that I know of) unless you have the footswitch hooked up. On my amp, when I engage my Loop, the amp gets much quieter. Maybe it's possible the Loop was switched ON and the pedal removed?

Not quite how the footswitch works.

You have to actually clean the jacks because dirty means they have oxidized and the lead no longer conduct. Also, you can check the output level of the preamp out and the FX loop send, if the single strength coming out is strong, then it would be something after the FX loop and the preamp out.
