Sailors from across the globe make their way to Miami, Florida – the Cruise Capital of the World – ready to rock out onboard 70000 Tons Of Metal. Miami Beach lures in visiting metalheads with vibrant nightlife, offering a myriad of events, live music, upscale hotels, top-tier dining, and, of course, one of America’s most iconic beaches.

Sailors and Survivors from 81 nations have made a record breaking return to our event this year, completely taking over Miami Beach and preparing for the Ultimate Heavy Metal Vacation at sea.

The beach party and other pre-cruise events span the entire day, extending well into the night. With Embarkation Day just around the corner, Sailors are busy getting themselves ready for the start of 70000 Tons Of Metal 2025.

On Day 1, our Sailors descend upon PortMiami and are about to embark on the Ultimate Heavy Metal Vacation! As Sailors, Artists, and Crew members make their way across the gangway, they are ready to take part in the over 120 concerts during the next 4 days.

Thanks to our dedicated crew members, the construction of our Crown Jewel, the Pool Deck stage, the Biggest Open Air Stage Structure to Ever Sail the Open Seas, is underway. Concerts commence at different venues across the ship shortly after our departure from PortMiami in the late afternoon.

Up next is our exclusive recap of Day 2, filled with electrifying concerts, exclusive Meet and Greets with all the talented Artists onboard, and numerous special events as we sail towards our port of call, Ocho Rios!

Day 2 kicks off with the completion of construction of the Pool Deck stage, and it is now primed to host our many amazing concerts! This magnificent structure is The World’s Biggest Open Air Stage Structure to Ever Sail the Open Seas, and is the Crown Jewel of 70000 Tons Of Metal. Thanks to the efforts of a dedicated crew of over 100 staff members working tirelessly through the night, the Pool Deck stage is ready for Day 2 performances. Enjoying the Caribbean sun from one of the hot tubs while watching your favorite metal bands perform is a truly unparalleled experience.

After 2 days of non-stop concerts, headbanging, and general comradery at Sea, the Independence of the Seas dropped anchor on Day 3 at our Caribbean port of call – Ocho Rios, Jamaica.

Sailors spent the day exploring Ocho Rios, with the option to participate in exclusive Artist Escorted Shore Excursions:

ATV Adventure – with member(s) of Beyond Creation; Reggae Sail, Snorkel and Jerk Tasting – with member(s) of Delain and Flotsam And Jetsam; Good Hope Estate Pass, Bamboo Rafting and Lunch – with member(s) of Finntroll; Dolphin Swim and Dunn’s River Falls – with member(s) of In Extremo; Blue Hole and River Tubing – with member(s) of Kalmah; Blue Hole and River Tubing – with member(s) of Majestica; Zipline and River with Lunch – with member(s) of Onslaught and Stratovarius; Good Hope Estates Pass, River Tubing and Lunch – with member(s) of Twilight Force; or Horseback Ride and Swim – with member(s) of Unleash The Archers.

Upon returning to the ship after an eventful day, Sailors dove right back into the Heavy Metal mayhem onboard.

In addition to a full day’s worth of Heavy Metal headbanging on Day 4, Sailors were invited to watch (or participate!) in our famous Belly Flop Contest, which featured an amazing panel of artist judges, and Jamming in International Waters, the All Star Jam co-hosted by metal icons Jörg Michael, formerly of legendary bands like Stratovarius, Rage, Grave Digger, Running Wild, Saxon, Axel Rudi Pell, Tom Angelripper, Avenger, Laos, and Mekong Delta, along with his current project Heavatar, and Kristin Starkey, known for her powerful, operatic vocals in Temperance and Twilight Force.

Closing out the Pool Deck Stage, The World’s Biggest Open Air Stage Structure to Ever Sail the Open Seas, was the iconic band Sepultura with their final Farewell At Sea show. Following their epic performance, the Skipper spoke to our Sailors, the United Nations of Heavy Metal at Sea. With a record-breaking 81 countries present for 70000 Tons Of Metal 2025, this year’s sailing showcased an incredible global gathering of the Heavy Metal community.

As the event draws to a close, Sailors unite at the Solarium for a special edition of 70000 Tons Of Karaoke, where musicians and Sailors alike sing their favorite tunes until the break of dawn.

We can’t wait to welcome you onboard the next sailing of 70000 Tons Of Metal, The Original, The World’s Biggest Heavy Metal Cruise! 60 Bands play 120+ Concerts for only 3,000 Sailors on the luxurious Freedom of the Seas sailing from Miami, Florida to Labadee on January 29 to February 2, 2026.
