80s & 90's Metal Festival

Got an email about this today, what a great line up!

TWISTED S1STER, RATT and EXTREME will headline the M3 Rock Festival, an East Coast '80s- and '90s-focused rock and heavy metal music event set to take place Saturday, May 30 at Columbia, Maryland's Merriweather Post Pavilion. The festival will feature two stages and 16 bands playing all their hits, 10 hours of music and a wide variety of entertaining booths and attractions.

Twisted Sister in interviews always claim how they try very hard to separate themselves from the whole "hair metal" scene, then they play shows like this.

I wouldn't go to this for free if it were 5 minutes away.

I'll probably go if tickets aren't too expensive, Twisted Sister is one of the best live bands I've ever seen.

Tix are $35-75. Two stages. The haven't announced who is on the main stage and who is on the side stage. TS is the headliner.

I really wish I had known about this before booking a trip to VA in April to see just Y&T. I may have to travel again for this one.

I had thought they closed down Merriweather a while back. Guess not.

nope. Many Marylanders fought against this and actually got it to stay open, but every year is the "Last Season at Merriweather!"

Seeing as I live 20 mins from Merriweather, I really should go to this, but I'll be touring throughout May. I'll pass on seeing Twisted Sister yet again, but finally I have good reason to miss a great band.

Would love to see Dokken, Keel & Extreme for the first time. Can't wait to see Y&T for the third time (1985, 2008) later this month.

Ditto's a hundred times over! Twisted Sister's first 2 albums were great NWOBHM influenced gems, and most of Dokken is pretty cool, other than that, this is a steaming pile.

Now that Pearcy is back in RATT, this might be a good time to go see 'em in their closest possible original incarnation! Warren DiMartini is absolutely excellent, by the way....
