In case some of you don't get the Century Media newsletter....

From the breathtaking winter landscape of Norway, Øystein G. Brun writes in to share what the band has been involved in recently:

"Borknagar is currently working on new material for the next album, still untitled. Most of the material is written with the rough plan for studio time in Autumn '02. We intend to use the same studio and engineer as on Empiricism. Musically it will be a continuation of the latest effort.

We've also been nominated (second time in a row) for the best metal album of '01 to receive the Norwegian Alarm award. The public has access to vote on their favourite album at www.alarmweb.org. Please vote!

The European MTV is gonna make a feature with Borknagar in the middle of January '02. The feature will be broadcasted at 'Spotlight' the 18th of February."

Anticipation is high for the North American release (with bonus multimedia materials) of Empiricism on January 22nd featuring new lead singer (and long-time friend) Vintersorg, which will be supported by a summer tour--their first appearance since 1999's Kings Of Terror Tour. Look for upcoming BORKNAGAR features in Revolver Magazine, Metal Maniacs, Brave Words & Bloody Knuckles, Unrestrained!, Pit Magazine, Eclipse and Rip N' Tear.

:)

MTV?!?... not really their style... maybe they're going back to their golden age with Headbangers Ball.

Really? Mtv with a REAL metal band on it? Its impossible, must be that MTV3 thing............

A summer Borknagar tour! WOOT, I wonder if we get em in the good ol us of a. I was going to get the imported Empiricism but if I get multimedia extra stuff than hell, im waiting for the 22nd!

:headbang:

First off I hope you allvoted for Borknagar,
and if you don't know how to do it, ask me
and I'll tell you how to, since the site is in
Norwegian >:eek:P Seems like Dimmu Borgir
is winning though, but that's only "the
people's vote". They have a jury as well....

Summertour!!?!??? SUMMERTOUR!!!???
I CAN'T WAIT!!!!! Maybe they'll play the
Quartfestival this year as well!
That would be really great since I didn't
get to see them last year (wasn't there
that specific day)!

And what's that MTV thing all about?!
Anyone have any information on this?!

Hey Blackspirit, what is the Quartfestival?

Hey Blackspirit, what is the Quartfestival?

http://www.quart.no

It is a mainstreem festival here in Norway,
but they always have some metal bands
playing. They have one day and one stage
devoted purely to metal each year )
Last year I got to see Einherjer, Zyklon,
Opeth, In Flames and Mayhem all the
same day! >)

I think Borknagar played there the first day
of the festival last year, they were going to
warm up for COF, but they cancelled,
so maybe Borknagar cancelled too?

i think the only decent "festival" we've had here was The Haunted / Immortal / Destruction.. though i wouldn't call 3 bands together a festival ;)

last year i was in the Borknagar e-mail forum, and we all there voted for Borkey... but there was some big problems with the votes... 'cuz the voting was restarted maybe 5 times... i dont know why, but we got really tired after a while, but the votes has seemed to be up for a time now, so maybe it is better this year

Hi fellow Metalheads :)

Some additional news:

Borknagar has been nominated in the hardrock category for this years Spellemannspris.
The other nominees are Emperor and Dimmu Borgir.

Great!,
Good luck with that award!
Hope you win :)

Hail!
In the Hardcore categorie? ... isn't it ... well.. weird? There's no "metal" category?

Good luck for this award :)

and yep, that is indeed a cool board over here!!

Hey Tyr,

welcome, nice to see ya here! Indeed a nice board, how about Borgnagar getting the forum here? *hint, hint* it's better than yahoo groups... *hint, hint* :D

Anyway, I have voted with friends at this alarmweb.org and there is something wrong with it! There is no way over 10 people vote from different computers and the vote result is still on 16 %!
I guess some cheats are going on or the typical thing, they pretend that fans can vote, but in reality the band is already chosen!

Well, I wish that Borknagar going to win in the end! :)

damn all the celebrities are just dropping in arent they? hehe. Rock on man, hope you guys win.

Yes this board rules, this and the DT board are the at the top of my list. Great people on this forum. :headbang:

THIS SONG RULES!
