Well, I finally broke down & bought my first set of strobes.... nothing spectacular, but they sure get the job done. Here's my first shoot with them. Black Kreek were kind enough to be my guinea pigs.

Great shots dude. Now you have almost every part of "taking care of musicians" covered- you record them, you take photos of them, and you can fix their cars when (not IF, but when) they break down haha.

yep grat pics Oz
Do you know a good website to get info about photo shooting?
I saw the settings you used on the files! it's a good starting point to me!
is the canon rebel XT the "old" Canon Eos 350d ? am I wrong? I found it at a great price.
I still love my kodak dx7590, cheap camera but great pics!!! anyway not a pro camera

Great shots bro!! My girlfriend is huge photography nut so I've picked up a bit of the lingo here and there and learned a thing or two, but I still can't take a nice picture to save my life  Seriously, looks awesome man, especially considering you just got the stuff! I know you mentioned you did some photography and stuff back in school, have you kept up with it at all much since then or is this your first forray back into serious photography in a while?

Actually, I went through Sheridan's Media Arts program... so a great deal of it was photography. In my experience, it's a bit like riding a bike: You never forget. I've spent the last few years buying a lot of hi-end studio equipment, so the photo gear took a back seat. However, I'm looking to expand my business, & I'm quite happy with my gear these days (still need a million things, but I can get by for the time being with what I have) so i broke down & got the strobes. I always loved shooting with strobes back in school... you can get very creative with them & the clients know immediately that you mean business when you start setting them up.

Hopefully, one day I'll get to shoot Jenna Haze :OMG:

For the time being, here's a gratuitous product shot:
