Guitar Meets Science has shared a new mini-documentary. Check it out below:
“This week, we dive headfirst into the neon-soaked rollercoaster ride of Trixter—the pretty-boy party band that seemed destined to take over the ’90s… until the bottom dropped out. From selling out arenas as teenagers to watching their MTV dreams vaporize overnight, Trixter’s rise and fall is a cautionary tale wrapped in Aqua Net and power chords. We explore how their debut album went gold, how they toured with giants like KISS and Scorpions, and why grunge slammed the door shut just as it opened. We’ll unpack the label battles, internal burnout, and what happened when the girls stopped screaming.”
In the clip below, former Trixter vocalist Pete Loran tells the story about how Bobby Kimball, the voice of Toto, came to sing on the first Trixter record, released in 1990.
Trixter’s self-titled debut album was certified gold, reaching #28 on the Billboard 200 chart. The album spawned three minor hit singles on the Billboard Hot 100: “Give It to Me Good” #65, “Surrender” at #72, and “One In A Million” at #75.
