Social Networking Strictly for the Underground Music Scene!
True Metal & Punk have always been snubbed by the mainstream (along with its fans). It is that same unfair treatment that inspired Heavy As Hell.com. After well over a year trying to work within the Digg.com community, RockMyMonkey.com was informed that it had been put on an 'automatic bury' for any story associated with it. So we figured it was time that fans (and independent journalists) of heavy music had a social news network of our own! So if you just did an interview, cd review, DVD review, live photos, or just saw a news story on a band you love, give it that extra push and submit to Heavy As Hell. Fans, bands, and journalists now have a place to network together without anyone else interfering.
Heavy As Hell.com is a community-based popularity website with an emphasis on all things pertaining to heavy music. It combines social bookmarking, blogging, and syndication with a form of non-hierarchical, democratic editorial control. News stories from other websites are submitted by fans of Metal & Punk, then are promoted to the front page through a user-based ranking system. This means that all users collectively take on the role of editor! Fans of heavy music submit the links and then vote on what stories are good enough to be on the front page. It is truly all about the fans with this site!
We want to make sure that independent music journalists, bands, & fans feel welcome at Heavy As Hell. We want everyone to benefit from it as well. Submit your unsigned band's new song. Submit that interview you just did with your favorite band for your webzine. Submit a rave review you found on your favorite band. If you see something you want the underground scene to know about, then this is the place to do it! Although we do plan to add more categories at a later time, the categories we have now are to make it clear that this is for the underground, and the mainstream is not welcome!
