I could download the demo of the new version of Megadeth's song which is going to appear on the new album.

Now is kind of a duet with Christina Scabbia of Lacuna Coil, and I have to point a couple of things in advance:

a) I love the original, and I meant it. One of my favorite all-time Megadeth songs and great spiritual lyrics IMO.
b) I love Lillo's vocals specially in old LC albums ("Karmacode" is a piece of crap), so I had great expectations for this collaboration.

Now the new song (remember is a demo) is not bad, but lacks something. The original I feel is more emotive, this one I feel it faster, the mix of the vocals is not well accomplished, and sense less emotion in Lillo's vocals. Dave on the other hand sounds very good (wonder is he just took the original tapes) and the song still rocks overall.

I guess now will be a matter of waiting for "United Abominations" to leak to check the final product.

In my opinion, it´s a shame this new version. "A tout le monde" is one of the best Megadeth songs and I don´t exactly why Dave has re-recorded it. Scabbia adds no melancholy, not a new vision, not emotion, nothing...

I got nothing against Cristina. I loved Lacuna Coil until "unleashed memories" (for me, "Comalies" and "Karcacode" are awful) and I saw her 7 times but "A tout le monde" is perfect in its original conception.

Come on, Dave, rearrange "Risk" album, not a masterpiece!

OLE! Exactly what I thought, only I didn't put it in good words. :kickass:

I don't care about "Risk", and I don't feel UA will be that bad, I do expect nevertheless a superior product in the end to TWNAH and TSHF both highly dissapointing and needless to have in the collection.

P.S You didn't like "Comalies", wasn't their finest hour but was not mallcore crap like "Karmacode"?

Agreed, the original is a great song and so is the entire Youthanasia album as far as I'm concerned. Can't say I hate this new version but it's just completely useless. This would be ok as a bonus track or something but a new album should be 100% new material. Especially as the three released tracks have all been very good IMO.

Somehow I get the feeling this is the idea of some Roadrunner big shot instead of Dave. It's just one song so it's no big deal for now but if Dave starts to bend over for the record company bosses like he did in the 90s, Megadeth might go downhill once again. I'm still very optimistic about the new album though.

Tsorl, for me that´s the key. "United (Marketing) abominations" by Roadrunner. New version, like you´ve said, it´s useless. If Dave wanted to release a new version that´s Ok but in a special edition, japanese bonus track or whatever.

However, I like a lot "The system has failed" and I think "United abominations" will be quite good too ´cause I trust in Dave and the current line up is fantastic (I love Drover brothers ´cause Eidolon are a supereb and underrated band.

P.S: Wyvern, I got a problem with "Comalies". I don´t know why but I hate that album. Where "Unleashed memories" rocks in composition terms, in my opinion, "Comalies" failed.

With having heard Gears of War, Washington is Next and This remake, I'm starting to get this sinking feeling in my stomach.
I'm starting to relive Risk all over again....

I like Gears of War and Sleepwalker, though I haven't heard Washington is Next. Anyway, I'll buy the album as I think Dave is making some stuff that is rooted in the past in the best kind of way right now......Also, they are opening for Heaven and Hell which I'm actually looking forward to as I've never seen Megadeth!

I'll pick up the album before I completely pan it, but I'm not too hopefully so far....

I have to agree on that UM is their finest hour, specially the astounding 'Senzafine', but "Comalies" didn't affected me much (and I do like some songs very much) as that aberration of "Karmacode" :puke:
