Alright, here is some additional information that might make some of you take this a little easier

Stefanie (originally from Switzerland) won a casting in a popular German TV show. Therefore she received a record deal from Universal. Her style is some kind of Soul/Funk Pop.
Ahead of the release of Metallicas "Death Magnetic" Vertigo/Universal started a promotional campaign called German Tribute To Metallica where five German bands cover their favorite Metallica tune. Check out the bands and excerpts from their interpretations here.
(Make up your own mind if it wouldn't have been better if Stefanie had been there instead of one or the other bands/interpretations...
)
From what Ive heard Stefanie and her version of "The Unforgiven" should have been part of this campaign but somehow she didnt make it among the Top 5. (Maybe because she is actually not German.)
Nevertheless Universal decided to release the song. We received a promotional copy last week and I played the song on my show on Tuesday. I immediately received a call from a listener asking who sang that version and where he could get it right after I played it.
(Of course I told the name of the artist and the above story before I played the song but calls you get at a radio stations are a whole different story
)
Afaik the guys at my station are considering putting the song on regular rotation, it might even be on this weeks list already.
This version of "The Unforgiven" goes pretty much in the same direction as covers a producer called Mark Ronson did with/of current artists/songs.

All these mentioned singles ran pretty well so its not very surprising to me that Universal directed Stefanies version towards that same musical genre.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mark_Ronson said:
