After leaving my studio, I'm working on new solutions for creating my productions until I can afford a space of my own.

I live in an apartment, so I can't be too loud.
I'm looking into grabbing some sound absorption Blankets from http://www.audimutesoundproofing.com/
I know they only help a bit with the mid-high freq, but I only need to make the cymbals & vocals quieter for my apartment so the neighbors don't complain.
The shells & kick will be triggered with my Alesis kit so I'm not worried about the rest of the kit's sound/vibrations being an issue. And (like all the cool kids do now) I DI the guitars & bass. so no worries there.

I just recorded a kid screaming his lungs out last week without any complaints from the neighbors so I imagine I can get this done pretty well without issues but cymbals may be a bigger disturbance.

anyway, any thoughts/tips?
are the Blankets worth it?
I know all the forums give them a bad wrap, but all I need is the Cymbals to be a bit quieter.
would normal Blankets be just as effective for only cymbals?

Nice.
Have you used these?
Are the going to affect the recording much? I wouldn't want the cymbals to sound unnatural.
And Is it gonna make the shell noise push into the OH more?
