In April 2016, during the Rock or Bust World Tour, AC/DC announced the departure of frontman Brian Johnson, citing hearing issues. As the band explained it, Johnson risked total hearing loss if he continued. He played his last show with AC/DC on 28 February 28, 2016, at the Sprint Center in Kansas City.
Johnson was temporarily replaced by Guns N’ Roses frontman, Axl Rose, in 2016. On October 7, 2023, he made a triumphant return to the stage with AC/DC at the Power Trip festival, AC/DC’s first show since 2016,
