AE2500 versus ATM250de blind test

No eq. Isolated 50/50 dynamic/condenser blend tracks and rough mixes.

I did my best to replicate the mic position which isn't easy cause they are not the same size.

I think I like them both in their own way.

I'd say both of these could work with processing (reduce some highs in mic 1 or some lows/low mid in mic 2). A blend of both of them might be really nice.

I'm pretty sure 1 is the 250 and 2 is the 2500. I tried out the 2500 awhile ago, but found it to be too low mid heavy and muffled compared to the other choices on hand at the time.

I think I prefer 2 overall, though it has a pretty prominent resonance going on that bugs me (could just be a placement thing though)

I'm really starting to wonder If I should keep posting this kind of stuff here when there's obviously so little interest though.

Fwiw I'm really interested in checking out the test I just don't have proper monitoring atm. I've always wondered how these mics differ.
