AEROSMITH guitarist Joe Perry has revealed via Twitter that he is working on his fifth solo effort, which will be a "mainly" instrumental affair. According to Perry, the follow-up to his 2009 album "Have Guitar, Will Travel" will "have diversity," and will include one or two songs Joe "or another singer" on vocals. No release date has yet been announced for the new album. In other news, the guitarist's holiday EP, "Joe Perry's Merry Christmas", is being reissued later this year. Perry's memoir, "Rocks: My Life In And Out Of Aerosmith", was released in October 2014 via Simon & Schuster. AEROSMITH's latest effort, 2012's "Music From Another Dimension!", debuted at No. 5 on The Billboard 200 album chart, selling 63,000 copies in its first week of release. The group's previous collection of new songs, 2001's "Just Push Play", entered the chart at No. 2 with sales of 240,000 copies.
