HAS INTEGRITY
I will have the DVD's of The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring and (more importantly to this nerd) Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan. Both are two disc sets, and should be phenomenal viewing. STII: TWOK is easily the best of Star Trek movies, and is the best known example of the Sci-Fi genre actually having legitimate drama. "You have been, and always will be, my friend." Or, "Aaah, my old friend Kirk. Have you ever heard the old saying 'revenge is a dish best served cold,' it is very cold in space."

What, there is another LOTR DVD coming out! I'll have to hold out for that one. I didn't know they were gonna go Lucas on us. Figures. Speaking of Lucas, I'm surprised Ep. II is coming out this Christmas on DVD. If you remember Ep. I was brought back into theatres for a two-week encore run in Dec. '99. I was actually hoping they'd do that again, w/ Ep II, but with the DVD release, it won't be happening. It was fun to go back to the theatre and see it when I was holiday shopping. Also, I felt that unlike the original trilogy, that Ep. I will never be brought back to theatres so I knew it was the last time I'd see it on the big screen. I'll probably go see Ep. II a couple of more times before summer is out.

What, your not gonna get the Clash of the Titans? First time on DVD tomorrow. That movie and all of Ray Harryhausen flicks kick ass. But yeah Kahn will kick ass.
What makes the LOTR disc really suck is that there are extras on this one that comes out tomorrow that are NOT going to be on the one that comes out in november. But I wont play that game I will get only the one that comes out in november.
I hope someday that Imax plays some of the SW movies. Right now the one in Newport Kentucky is playing Raiders of the lost ark. I want to see it. Last month they played the Matrix. It ruled on the huge ass screen with a crazy ass sound system.

The LOTR that comes out in Nov. will be an extended version (about 45 min. longer than the theatre version) and comes with four discs with a shload of bonus material.

I must say, the dvd's coming out this year have really taken me back. Tron, The Dark Crystal, Legend, Clash of the Titans, Kahn, An American Werewolf in London....

It's great to be able to share all these really cool movies I grew up with with my daughter. It's like Charlie said, it's all about remembering your roots....

Yeah my kids will be able to watch Star Wars in order and then wonder why 4, 5 and 6 look so cheesey after seeing 1, 2 and 3...

That LOTR situation sounds pretty shitty. Nothing like making you spend money, just cause they know people will do it.
