To me, Agalloch is a bit like the progressive version of Dark Tranquility (ala Projector) and Katatonia. That's my impression at least-- and does anyones else think that the singer's growling sounds like the new female vocalist in Arch Enemy?

Wow, Agalloch's Pale Folklore vinyl Wooden Box edition just sold for $578 on ebay. I think it's gone for more in the past but still, that's pretty crazy. I wish I could get my hands on that but I do have two copies of the blue/white splatter edition limited to 100.

What to start with? They're all amazing to me. I've heard Ashes Against the Grain to be most accessable by most people, so I sguess you can start with that one. The White is simply stunning, but not metal at all. It's dark ambient folk, and is pretty much mesmerizing. I honestly think you can start with any of them.
