REVIEW

There is a lot of metal out there today which doesn’t make the grade. Bands bang out heavy thrashes like a predefined punch press or entertain the imbecilic MTV generation by bastardizing the art form. Let’s face it, metal music today is pretty dire with everyone and his uncle securing a record deal with a license to produce utter crap.

AGATHODAIMON are a German band whose music falls into the category of extreme metal – mix of Black and Gothic Metal.

I have to say that this album is very weird. Yes there are black elements, and yes there are gothic but what the fuck are the 80’s keyboards doing in there? What is it with the German fascination with 80’s Brit Pop music? I just could not believe my ears when I heard one track which had harmonic vocals! I swear to God I had to bleach my ears with floor cleaner to double check they were clear and what I was listening to was correct.

The rest of the album is just a great big zero appeal. There is nothing exciting nor brilliant about this album that you haven’t heard elsewhere.
