Now if only Ancient Rites hadn't released a series of commercially oriented albums for the better part of the last decade, it might even be a rant with credibility.

There's nothing 'neoclassical' about the last few Ancient Rites albums (though there are moments on both The Diabolic Serenades and Blasfemia Eternal), and speed metal and its derivatives have been far and away the most commercially successful forms of metal.
