Aina- Review Posted

Hey Q...not criticizing your effort...I enjoy your posts on this forum...and I admire the time, thought, and enthusiasm that went into your review...but I've gotta disagree on a few points...

(1) Aina has been out for a while...kinda lagging behind on a review, huh?

(2) The statement you make about the "power metal genre has never, in its history, succumbed to mediocrity in my opinion" is a strong statement to make. It is certainly your opinion, as you state...but...come on! That's the one thing that's wrong with the power metal genre (and may become the death of it)...is the fact that there are so many 2nd, 3rd, 4th tier bands that are highly steeped in mediocrity...let alone just plain suck.

Otherwise...great review for a great album. I really respect the album as a whole, and just wanna cheer every time I hear Kiske's voice...

Admirable effort...let the flaming begin...

Rock on!

Aina is mediocre, at best, after a number of listens. This coming from a guy who loves both of the Avantasia albums.

I'll pull the CD set out again tonight and give it another whirl, but I don't see what all the fuss is about.

Hey no problem man, opinions are opinions and I appreciate your feedback. I won't be ab;e to get better as a writer without feedback, good or bad and again I appreciate it. Here are my answers to your statements:

(1) T rue Aina has been out a while but the promo just landed on my desk right on the top of all the rest. I guess I maybe should have noted that. I would rather review something newer but chose Aina because of how much I like it.
(2) That statement was really my opinion at the time. Sometimes you do get wrapped up in listening to ALOT of stuff and it all sounds GREAT. The more I thought about your comment the more I did realize that maybe it was a little bit off. But it was true at the time I wrote the review so being true ti myself is a good thing.

Do me a favor though and take a look at my future reviews so I can get some constructive feedback like this.

And regarding the last post. Aina mediocre. NOT!

While it is true that Aina is very good... i still felt ripped off with the 2cd/dvd option...
it should´ve been released as a single cd, or single cd/dvd... the second cd has no reason to be... and while good it was too expensive and not enough music (unlike ayreon)
