Taking their name from the ancient Babylonian king Nimrod, Saudi Arabia's Al-Namrood employ a lethal and politically charged blend of black metal and traditional Western Asian music. All of the group's members are anonymous, due to the potential for punishment from Saudi Arabian authorities -- the band chose their moniker as a form of defiance against religion. Released via the group's own Shaytan Productions, their debut studio LP, Astfhl Al Thar, dropped in 2008, with subsequent offerings Estorat Taghoot (2010), Kitab Al Awthan (2012), Heen Yadhar Al Ghasq (2014), Diaji Al Joor (2015), and Enkar (2017) being supplemented by the occasional single or EP.
