What about this heapin' slab of molten punk/metal/hardcore whatever you wanna call it, it just freakin' kicks ASS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you never owned this one then my heart goes out to you! Songs like I SAW YOUR MOMMY, INSTITUTIONALIZED, MEMORIES OF TOMORROW are songs that my body responds to even today!!! This is, in my opinion, the best ST album...even though they grew as musicians from album to album...I think their skills got better...I don't feel they ever matched the energy level and FEROCITY of the first one...and the cover kicked ass. I made shirts just like that, too! hehe

It's definetly their best & most classic album!!! (though I like them all right up to Suicidal For Life)

I read an interview with Mike Muir from back in the day and he said he's been asked that Crips question more than once and that no he wasn't a Crip
but with a gang in Venice, Calif...He said the name in the interview unfortunatley I don't remember what it was....It was a spanish name though.

They're one of my favorite bands of all time, and think it's pretty cool that their 1st album has held it's ground after all these years....
And it's like the song says....

"IF YOU AINT SUICIDAL.....YOU AINT SHIT!!!!!"

I am going to be honest here I like the Still Cyco Rerecording Much Better I have the First album on Vinyl and perssonally think it sounds like garbage hahaha But the songs are classics! I just like the rerecords better

That makes sense though Jonny, Hell I think Still Cyco sounds better myself!!
Alot of tech advances in those ten years (83 - 93)

Not to mention the Still Cyco lineup Muir, Clark, George, Trujillo & Herrara
was one of the best in metal at the time, as well as ST's best lineup ever!!!

Damn Right!!!! I agree 100% I really miss Rocky George's Guitar playing!!! He had a very classic sound! .... And it was Technical Advances and Budget ... ST was at a High point when they recorded Still cyco ... Ofcourse nowadays they could do it on a very small budget ... but I think I am losing track of the actual subject due to ADD and lack of sleep hahaha

This is why I love UMOS. I hardly post, but I often read. And now I will go and dig out my only ST album "how will I laugh ....". Haven´t listened to it for at least 10 years, actually I forgot about ST. Perfect.

I am not too much into this genre thing, but "holy hardcore" would include Agnostic Front for me.

Mmm, Agnostic is not enough crossover to Metal for my taste....Still a very cool band though !!!!

A great record. I have a lot of good memories tied to it. For one, I had a Suicidal Tendencies (Dogtown) skateboard when I was 15 or 16 (I'm 34 now). I remember hearing that record for the first time. Some guy I knew from "the city" played it for me. Until then I was strictly metal all the way.....Maiden, early Slayer, Metallica......and while I'm still not a punk fan, I thought that record was genius. I really got into D.R.I. around that time too.....

Anyway, good record from start to finish, and I still put it on now and again.

Love the band and their albums.. especially How Will I laugh .... I saw them years ago live in NYC with Megadeth and Bodycount... there might of been another band but don't remember.. but anyways the show was kickass for all 3 bands...

Y'know, Suicidal's self titled album is some good hardcore punk, and i do like the album, but as far as hardcore punk albums done by bands that eventually went metal, Cro-Mags' "The Age of Quarrel" CANNOT be overlooked. Killer and downright angry hardcore right fuckin' there.

But the greatest hardcore punk album of all time? it's a tie between Bad Brains' self titled debut or Dead Kennedys' "Fresh Fruit for Rotting Vegetables".

Great album! Having listened to mainly just metal at the time (Maiden, Priest, and so on) that ST shit threw me for a loop.... I dug it!! Along with the first album my other favorite would be Join The Army.... man now I gotta dig those out.
