Album sales

We're accounted to bi-yearly, so yes, we know exactly how many CD's we've sold. I can tell you to date, Pale Haunt is our best seller, and Novella is on track to beat that this year.

Without giving you an exact number, I can tell you world wide, Pale Haunt has sold more then 10,000 and less then 100,000. :)

That you've sold around that much is pretty sweet. Ok next cheeky question (lol) do you make any money off that? or does it go straight back into the band?

Wow, that's great.. in such a niche genre so to speak, I think those sales are really good.. I'm sure you guys always hope to sell more and actually not lose money all in all, but... I'm sure The end is doing more in forms of distribution and promotion than Matryr ever did :)

The End Records has been very cool and with this new album especially, they've been very helpful to us and are working with us on some cool new things for the near future, like the DVD and other stuff not yet announced ;)

no one would possibly guess what's coming.

Well, then I suppose I will state my guess, and you guys can shoot me later if I am on target (which I probably am not).

One thought I had for ND was an Ozzfest Midwest appearance, possibly, since LORDI is on the bill.

I think I read somewhere that local bands might get added to each spot.

To anyone reading this, I have ZERO factual information to base this guess against, and this is solely MY guess.

I can guarantee it's not an appearance at Ozzfest, lol, that's funny actually. I couldn't imagine playing there especially since we'd probaby be on some side stage the size of a patio and playing at 9 a.m. Noone wants to hear Novembers Doom at 9 a.m., not even me, lol. And I'm sure it'd be some ridiculous buy-on too. I'd rather put the effort into having a really good show at a club somewhere, to be honest.

So sorry Jason, you're barking up the completely wrong tree there. Honestly I don't think anyone will guess, it's kind of a unique idea and it will be announced sometime in the somewhat near future. That's honestly all that can be said now.

Awesome, can't wait!
In all honesty, I was only half-serious about the Ozzfest stint.
The idea solely came from when I saw Lordi was added to the bill.
Didn't know if that could possibly throw a bone in your guy's direction, being label mates.....

No offense, but I hope it isn't your guys pornographic debuts!

I'm thinking of maybe something ND has said in the past once or twice...just for shits and grins here, so I'm thinking ND unplugged? Ah, no matter, everyone have a safe holiday! :headbang:

I suspect The End lacks the connections to make it happen, but it would seem if you could ever get a video played on the Headbanger's Ball, you could begin to garner the kind of recognition you deserve.

I suspect that must be the most frustrating aspect of being at the stage of the game that you are... just getting your music out there for mass (relatively speaking) consumption. It seems that with a video played 2 or 3 times on the HBB and an opening slot on a North American tour with one of the bigger "extreme" acts (In Flames, CoB, Dimmu, Opeth, etc.) you guys could explode.

Zod

I don't know if it's completely out of the question that a video of ours could get played on HBB. Problem is that there are so many labels with so many bands, all trying to get their videos shown every week during the very brief amount of time alotted for HBB. From what I understand, your best bet to be featured on there is if you're doing alot of touring. Though I have seen videos played by bands who currently aren't touring, so who knows.

"Autumn Reflection" is definitely a good enough quality video to be played on there. Though I dunno if it'd fit into the shows format between all the metalcore and stuff they play.

I do think that getting our video played once or twice even on HBB would expose us to far more potential fans and buyers than 4 months of touring would. Hell, I myself have been exposed to tons of bands by seeing their video, who I know I'd have never bothered going to see live, no matter how many times they came through town on tour. Once I saw the video though, then I sought out their next tour dates.
