I'll start with the obvious-
A favorite of Our Favorite...

Well these are kind of obvious, but I'll add them anyway.

"The Gallery" and "The Mind's I" by Dark Tranquillity
"Tales From the Thousand Lakes" by Amorphis

And I'll add "Human" by Death, because not enough people on this board seem to listen to them.

Nah... check out 'The Snow Goose', 'Mirage', 'Rajaz' and 'Camel' instead ! Moonmadness is already on the way towards their pop phase, and don't take Mikael's word for granted (and my word as well), I know Moonmadness is his favourite Camel record, but the people who haven't heard it, be warned : it's more bland than the first three albums.

NP: King Crimson - Starless and Bible Black

I fyou really like Opeth, and are open-minded to some really twisted and off the wall, dark, melodic progressive music, you really MUST listen to Sinkadus. Listen to anything off of Cirkus, it will kick your ass. If Opeth covered these guys songs, it would be the best thing in the world.........

Also, I'd recommend Enslaved's mardraum......very heavy and trippy, melodic and insane all in one.

Yep,though VBE's music doens't resemble Opeth's ,I suggest you should all check this band out, since both bands play really "intelligent" music......unique.... *should i start with my "propaganda" again???? :p *
I love Carl-Michael's "crying".......

My Dying Bride (Turn Loose The Swans and The Angel And The Dark River especially), Summoning (haven't heard their debut Lungburz yet, but the rest of their stuff rocks) and Arcturus's "La Masquerade Infernale", possibly the greatest music album i had the chance to listen to.
