Nah he's too classy for that. It's just some clean Internet fun to promote the new album, I have to admit that the promotional force behind "Along Came A Spider" is pretty strong and modern (multimedia intensive) for an old rock legend. I would have expect more that from newer bands.

You know what, I wouldn't be surprised to see record companies start hyping the "older" acts more, since the "older" consumers are probably more likely to actually buy the CD instead of grabbing the free mp3 download.

That's a very witty supposition. I agree with you that it can be the reason why, which in such case it is great for me since I'm more inclined to get stuff from older acts (specially those I already like) than newer.
