Allen & Heath Ice 16 ME want!

Seen that on Gearsluzt. The guys from A&H explained it really is intended as a multitrack recording interface, and it would have been impossible to fit 16 xlr/jack outs in a 1U unit so they put RCA instead.

I can see it being awesomely practical. Put a usb key in, hit record. You'll get 16 wav files that you can load up in your DAW later on when you're back home/to your studio

That'd a very handy thing to have. I'd love to get one of my desks modded so the direct outs are pre fader and EQ and use it with this. Be great to be able to offer quick and easy gig recordings to generate some extra income.

What desk do you have man? I know some have internal jumpers to switch between pre/post fader direct outs.

We've a few different desks but we'd probably do it to an Allen and Heath Gl2200, which does have jumpers inside to make the direct outs pre fader and pre EQ.

I've never done that kind of work myself, I'd probably still give it to a tech to do it though looking into it it seems quite easy.
