Alright, first recording with the Fireface and BTB555 (At the Gates - Cold)

The tone sounds undergained, but the drums sound pretty cool. Also the bass doesn't seem to have much character, I didn't notice there was one, until the slide after the song had finished.

It's more about filling in the gaps for the guitar tone :) I personally don't like lead guitar-like (if you will) bass playing, as it makes the mix sound a bit on the thin side. On the other hand, I also don't like clonky fuzz bass such as newer In Flames stuff :ill:

But not that I'm personally still happy with the bass sound. But it's pretty tough getting the bass to sound good in a mix, it always sounds like the bass is either just background boom, or then thin and distorted. The middle ground is hard to get, ie. keeping the bass the low end mat and clear guitar/bass gap filler :erk:

When you finisgh, can i do vox?

I don't think I'll do more to this. The solo is way beyond my skills

I'll record the solo in C and just pitch it down half a step and send you the DI, hahaha

That or just leave the solo... I'm easy, just want vocal practise and fucking love ATG :D
