ALTER BRIDGE will enter the studio next month to begin recording the follow-up to 2016's "The Last Hero" album. Guitarist Mark Tremonti, who has spent much of the last year touring with his band TREMONTI, confirmed ALTER BRIDGE's plans for a new LP during an interview with Rockwell Anderson of The Edge aboard this year's ShipRocked cruise. "[ALTER BRIDGE is] going into this studio after [TREMONTI's] tour with SEVENDUST," he said (see video below). "We're gonna go into studio in March and April. And then after that, I go back on tour with TREMONTI and then go back on tour with ALTER BRIDGE this winter." Last fall, ALTER BRIDGE singer Myles Kennedy told Myglobalmind that "a whole bunch of ideas" were "being thrown around" for the band's sixth album. "It's pretty exciting stuff. There is too early to tell what the vibe is just yet or what will make the cut," he said. "Mark and I tend to come up with a lot of ideas that we throw up against the wall to see what will stick. The songs we pick will decide the mood of the record and we won't know that until April." ALTER BRIDGE's fifth studio album, "The Last Hero", was released in October 2016 via Caroline Records in the United States/Canada and Napalm Records throughout the rest of the globe. The 13-track opus was produced by longtime friend and collaborator Michael "Elvis" Baskette (SLASH, TREMONTI, TRIVIUM) and mastered by Grammy Award winner Ted Jensen.
