Alternate music video channel

I want to start a new music video channel.
do you think it can be done competing with mtv?
would anyone tune in?

i feel they have had the market too long and need to be pushed aside. alot of money would be needed but airtime in nashville is cheap and i have the equipment to do it. do you think metal bands would respond to sending in videos and doing interviews?

what if it was an extension of this forum on t.v..
you guys send me the tapes and i would air them. and then make dvds of the shows.
everyone here would have a voice on the show .

The question here: Since music videos are predominantly a promotional tool and very few bands choose to explore the artistic possibilities of the medium, can a strictly noncommercial video network exist?
