a friend of mine just got two dwarf bunnies who are like teacup sized and live in brooklyn now.

I don't know!!! lauren took a personal day because she was sad and also had to take the remaining one to a vet. I'll find out tomorrow maybe? I guess baby bunnies might just die sometimes? maybe the heart gave out? who knows?

so the bunny died of some kind of bacterial infection--it was bunny sneezing the few days previous and they had brought it to a vet and it wasn't getting worse so they had let it be for a bit and then boom dead. lauren's husband gave it bunny cpr (basically poked its tiny chest really really fast with his finger) but no go. they also found out two other bunnies from the pet shop they had bought it at had died in the past couple of weeks from the same thing! shady pet shop. where they now have a $50 credit.

to further gruesome up this thread, aysha discovered a dead mouse in our hav-a-hart trap which had probably been there from sometime over vacation and starved to death. fucked up!! we didn't set the trap over vacation obviously! all i can think is that we must have left it open for weeks previous and forgotten about it because we never caught anything and he blundered in sometime while we were gone. so much for spending $25 and having a heart. i should've just bought a $2 snapper.

pet shops that sell pets are almost always fucked up

there are like a million rabbits that are up for adoption they should adopt one.

they can't get another one for a year according to the vet.

they hadn't planned to buy the rabbits from this pet store but just look at them and get rabbits elsewhere maybe but they felt bad about the conditions the rabbits were in and saw it as "rescuing" them from the shop.
