Hi everyone,
I would like to introduce the french melodic metal band, Amaranthys, of which I am the lead singer.
Here is a short biography and description :
"Amaranthys was born from the ashes of Lâpsit Exillis, whose existence goes back to 2002. After sharing a few concerts and releasing a demo, in july 2007 the band decides to part ways with their singer for various reasons, musical as well as personal. At that point it becomes Amaranthys and the line-up is reorganized in order to give more depth and diversity to the vocal parts.
Starting from August 2007, new lyrics are written for the older songs, and in November the band decides to record a new demo. The next goal is to get back on stage as soon as possible, the first of a long list of ambitions.

Delicate ballads, rock pieces, rawer metal, influences ranging from folk to gothic, epic and symphonic, as well as spooky, Tim Burton-like atmospheres, theres something for everyone in the multi-faced world of Amaranthys. Indeed each songwriter in the band brings along different influences for a surprising mixture.
The music is completed by lyrics sometimes inspired by myths and legends, but that always tell us something about humanity and the human nature, our fears, desires, dreams and doubts : every myth is built on some kind of reality. Parallel realities intertwine, old, forgotten fairy-tales re-emerge and open our minds to a different view of our familiar world.
The symbol of the amaranth is at the heart of the concept : it questions the issue of the human quest for eternity and perfection, contradicted by our desperately mortal and flawed nature. What is unreachable is not necessarily the most beautiful thing ; but the simple fact that it is unreachable gives it the greatest beauty of all. "
