Guys check this video out! Insane insight on one of the most important masterpieces of rock of the XX century (IMHO)

Awesome. Can't watch the whole thing right now. I was always curious as to how they got that lead guitar tone. I recall reading something by Billy Corgan about achieving a similar tone but I totally forget now. I just sounds so squeezed/bottled up, almost like a flange or phase type thing going on.

The lead tone has to do whit lots of things, one of them using out of phase pick ups (that is said by brian in other documentary)

Amazing. I think i still have the separate tracks laying around somewhere, it's super cool to just listen and hear how it all sounds individually.

Thanks for posting, I enjoyed watching it.

I have listend to those tracks too and you just have to stand back and be amazed at how absolutely brilliant Freddy was as a vocalist.

I also thought it was interesting that there is a big piano part on those raws that occurs when it comes back in with the guitar riff after the famous a cappella part. You don't hear it on the official mix, or at least I don't with my dodgy hearing!!

if anyone can get to listen to them it would be worth your while.
