Does something like that exist? A Synth specialized on Ambient/PAD stuff, preferably with a lot of presets to choose from?

At the moment I make my own sounds, by using a piano with tonnes of reverb or sonething like that, but that's a little unhandy^^

Just looked it up on my cellphone. The free Alchemy Player looks perfect to me ;) I suck at tweaking my own Synth Patches anyway^^

Omnisphere is specialist of pad and ambiant sounds. Can't go wrong with it for what you describe.

Sylenth1 has awesome presets of any kind, pads included.

Analogue style : Arturia V Collection 3.0
Last interesting option is Native Komplete 10 with several major synths, all together with dozens or hundreds of other instruments.

I haven't been attracted to the Alchemy price politics and how it is designed, but indeed it is not a bad idea for this kind of use. As you said, you don't always need to tweak the sounds anyway. I find it more critical when designing lead sounds or things like that

Literally any synth with ADSR and waveform (sine, saw, square, pulse, triangle) controls and some effects will get you pretty much there.

Ok now padshop pro looks friggin awesome! I could even see myself tweaking my own presets with that type of synth :D The price seems fair aswell
