Okay, to make up to all the metalheads for my last thread, here's something a little more metal.
This is a new band from Michigan called "American Venom". We did a 4 song EP recently. Weird fact, this dude was in a band that recorded with Adam D waaay back when he was interning at a studio. Adam D also played drums on a bunch of songs on that record. I forget the name of the band, but it was cool stuff.
One more interesting fact. They had to postpone their initial recording dates because they lost their vocalist. 2 weeks before we were supposed to track vocals, their guitarist kicked out their brand new vocalist and picked up Zen of Screaming and taught him to do the vocals you hear on this EP. Not bad!
Anyhow, I thought these guys were pretty decent. Good song writing, great classic American style metal.
I haven't really recording a lot of bands in this style, as I never really got huge into Slayer or Lamb of God. What do you guys think the strengths and weaknesses of this recording are?
Thanks!
