Finland's superstars Amorphis entered Finnvox studios today (Nov. 18) to begin recording the basic tracks for the band's next studio album. The band plan to complete the recordings early next year for a tentative summer 2003 release through an as-yet-undetermined label.
"Snoopy's (a.k.a. drummer Jan Rechberger) return to the group has changed the music a bit" - explained guitarist Esa Holopainen - "I think our new material is a mixture of both new and old elements. We have no album title for it yet, not even a working title".

In the meantime, the group have lined up the following gigs during the coming weeks:

Nov. 30 – Skopje, MAC @ Skopje Trade Fair
Dec. 13 - St. Petersburg, RUS @ Youth Place
Dec. 14 – Moscow, RUS @ DK
Dec. 20 – Tampere, FIN @ Pakkahuone

In related news, Amorphis singer Pasi Koskinen's "black metal" project AJATTARA are in the middle of tracking their new album, titled "Kuolema" ("Death"). It is due to surface in March 2003 via Spinefarm Records.
