On Saturday, March 29th, The Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (CARAS) in association with The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) streamed The Juno Awards Gala online from Vancouver, BC. It took place before the Juno Awards, which aired on Sunday, March 30th, and features electric performances and award presentations from new faces and treasured favourites, as well as winners of 40+ Juno Awards.
As part of The Juno Awards Gala, Anciients won “Metal/Hard Music Album Of The Year” for Beyond The Reach Of The Sun.
The nominees in the “Metal/Hard Music Album Of The Year” were:
Beyond The Reach Of The Sun – Anciients – Season Of Mist/The Orchard
PowerNerd – Devin Townsend – InsideOutMusic/Sony
Fire – Kittie – Sumerian/Virgin
The Fear Of Fear – Spiritbox – BMG/Universal
Ultrapower – Striker – Independent
The band has issued the following statement:
“We are absolutely shocked and thrilled that we’ve won our second Juno Award for metal album of the year. Aside from the music, there is so much work that goes into making a record. First and foremost, we’d like to thank @jessegander and @szymon2019 at @raincityrecorders for capturing our music and giving us an amazing production. As well as @sturules604 for his excellent mastering job. @nightjarillustration for his stunning cover art, @a_lilly_art for the gatefold art, and @sabkay for the layout and packaging design.
We’d like to give a huge thanks to @michael_seasonofmist , Gordon, Will, and everyone at @seasonofmistofficial for being amazing to work with over the years, and sticking it out with us.
Massive thanks and appreciation to our spouses, who hold down the fort and give us the opportunity to create music. Without them none of this would be possible.
Last, but certainly not least, @jhag666 for his amazing contributions in the form of keyboards. He added so much dynamic and atmosphere to this album, it wouldn’t sound the way it does with out him. Thanks everyone for listening! We really hope to see you on the road in 2025.”
P.S.: Huge shoutout to @rw_co for making us metal heads look presentable; we really appreciate it!”
Tracklisting:
“Forbidden Sanctuary”
“Despoiled”
“Is It Your God”
“Melt the Crown”
“Cloak Of The Vast And Black”
“Celestial Tyrant”
“Beyond Our Minds”
“The Torch”
“Candescence”
“In The Absence Of Wisdom”
