Andy Sneap about Melodyne...

And now everybody will melodyne their bass (JUST TUNE not quantize), scoop those mids and give it a little 1khz to make it sit in the mix :rofl:DDD

Loved the fact that it feels like a "real" opinion not one of those videos
where "everything about the plugin is perfect and ill use it even to make coffee"

Warhammer toy FTW

P.S: Is it bad that i actually stopped the video to see the settings on the 5153??

I wish I could do that pitch correction on a Bass with Cubase VariAudio too ...
VariAudio don't reach the low notes (Cubase 5). Is it possible to do this in Cubase 6?

Andy is a legend I love that dude!!! And miss him posting here :(. Dude is looking amazing as Cj said a few months back. Andy pretty much can sell anything without really even saying why he likes it. Cause we all trust his judgment and know if he uses it and endorses it. The product def does not suck.

Cheers for the embedded player Mutant :)

Nice video, Andy = boss!

Personally I just use Antares Autotune on the bass setting so I don't even have to listen to the bass track. It just fixes everything for me. I feel like bass doesn't suffer tonally from autotune and basses don't have proper intonations at times so it's a quick fix. Anyone else use Antares on bass also?

If I recall correctly he used to say that waves tune works better with more "harsh" vocals.

Andy's told me this as well. In the same conversation he also mentioned preferring Melodyne on bass. Just goes to show that no single tool can do everything.

Great video btw. Thanks for posting

Have also used Melodyne on DI bass in the past, but never on metal as it happens. While I love to use a real bass to record, mainly due to getting timing and feel correct, it's a crap bass and the intonation is poor. This little trick helps settle things up and avoids use of samples (which are however in tune).
