ANGBAND, one of our most exotic bands, is back with their third record „Saved From The Truth“. Formed in 2004, the four dedicated metal heads from the Iranian capital Tehran have been on our label since their debut album „Rising From Apadana“ in 2008. Since then to real insiders they are known for honest Power Metal with a small progressive touch.

The 9 brand new songs were again produced by Achim Köhler -- except the calm last track „Bitter End“, all of them with a playing time between five and six minutes. He gave an own identity to the new songs, thus topping the predecessor „Visions Of The Seeker“. The even more developed vocals of front-man Ashkan Yazdani sometimes show similarities to King Diamond in the middle-high singing-passages, sometimes even in high-pitched-screams. The songwriting also remembers a little bit to Savatage.

With „Saved From The Truth“, ANGBAND proves that there are also some Metal-maniacs in a strictly Islamic country, which play – despite of all the government barriers -- real Heavy Metal of a Western style!

ANGBAND - "IV" - Cover, Tracklist, Release Date: 24th July 2020

The release date of the of the new album "IV" by the Iranian Power/Prog Metal Band ANGBAND on CD via PURE UNDERGROUND RECORDS is July 24th, 2020. The pre-order phase will start on July 10th, 2020 in our webshop.

The exotic Iranians from ANGBAND have been on our label for a very long time! The band from Teheran had been under contract with us since their debut “Rising From Apadana” (2008).

However, since 2012 ("Saved From The Truth") it went very quiet around them. Now, on the upcoming album “IV”, none other than PHARAOH- and CONTROL DENIED singer Tim Aymar takes over the microphone partly. On this album, Progressive Power Metal meet up with Persian folklore in a way, as if there were never two different origins. Calm, thoughtful moments and hymnal metal parts enter into an incomparable symbiosis that can only be achieved by this band.

If you appreciate high quality Metal from real exotic countries, you will go totally nuts with this album!
