What's up with all y'all???? ....here's yet ANOTHER reason why UltimateMetalOLDSCHOOL is the best forum on the planet:

I am completely and totally burnt out on metal right now. Could not give a shit about ANY metal song, album, band, etc. My musical schizophrenia is running along side of crazy shit like DEAN MARTIN, DAVE MATTHEWS, TOBY KEITH ("I ain't as good as I once was" is my life story) and even some Eazy E. Just no metal in site.

HOWEVER, I still come on and read all the posts day in and day out in this little community of ours.

WHY? THE PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!! Even when metal is the last thing on my mind, I like to see what you crazy sons o bitches are up to! I genuinely enjoy reading your thoughts and keeping up with all of you and joining in now and again.

So that's why Old School rules. Even when I need a break from the metal, the people keep me coming back for more...

and there's a RATT song for ya....

maybe my burnout is not that far from over!

And remember, SUMMER IS HERE!!!!!!!! Get out and enjoy the weather! Grill it but don't spill it and make out until it all hangs out!

Barbeque and Tan Lines,
Ted

Ted... Dave Matthews??? WTF??? Sorry, I give everything a chance but that whining poor excuse for talent just doesn't make sense to me???

Whatever?!?

But yes, the people in here are just the best. It is great that the age span in here seems to be growing. I think that is the one thing that keeps it fresh. You have us old wise dudes (or dumb, one or the other!) and the youngins' who teach us a few things everyday. It is definately a great community! No assholes in sight!

Summer is a great thing and I was just admiring my farmer jones tan... sad. Need to get outta the shirt a little more often! It has been so freakin' hot here that it is almost miserable to go outside... and I love the HOT weather! 102 deg. on Sunday! The old broken record, it isn't the heat, it's the humidity!

On the metal side of things... the new Demons and Wizards is coming soon and the new Nevermore should be out soon also. If that isn't reason enough to have hope, then I don't know what is!

Take it easy!

Hey Ted I agree with everything you said. I had my non-metal period in the beginning of the 1990s. but in the end I just came back home loving metal even more!

And yea, this place is great. I just love it here. No bullshit "I am the troooest metal though guy", or was that gay? ;)

If you discover an Bjork album you like, you should be able to post about that here. A man or womans musical taste is personal and people should respect that. End of story!

I am looking forward to the new Nevermore very much. And I want to see them live again this summer. I can't wait to get my greedy hands on that album. :)

This summer we'll be staying home. Just go to the beach [10 minutes by car] and enjoy! We will see what our holiday brings us. The magic word is "relax"! :D

I wonder what vacation plan you all have.

LOL! You just might have something there buddy. I can see you as a cook. No problemo! If you would move to the twin cities be sure to get yourself some good winter clothes. I heard it can be freezing out there in the winter!

I hope you will continue this. Sounds great to me. Besides having a competent chef as a good friend is excellent of course :tickled:

TVF has lost his marbles...

Actually I had a pretty serious non-metal period: 1966-1983 :loco:

P.S. I don't like Bjork :D

Ok talking about serious periods... um, there is a joke in there somewhere.

When I was growing up, the only music/band that I thought existed was Kiss. My older brother listened to them so I heard them very early on. I could listen to the radio all day long, hear all sorts of stuff but it never dawned on me that these were bands... because in my eyes, there was only Kiss. Fucking silly everytime I think about it. I think it had more to do with the "larger than life" image that they had... Somewhere my visual workings never crossed over with my hearing I guess?!?!

So yeah, a non-metal period never existed for me that I remember.

Total Metal from 1968 till I die!!! If you consider Kiss Metal!?!?!
