Earlier today, March 30th, Anthrax drummer Charlie Benante took to social media, reflecting upon his band’s most recent concert, as well as looking forward to their next studio album. His post read:

“Big Rock show last night (March 29th) in Lima, Peru – Vivo X El Rock with the musical stylings of Anthrax, Marilyn Manson, Avenged Sevenfold and more. I always love seeing a good Red Flare Pit in the crowd. I remember years ago when it first happened at our show in Santiago, I didn’t know if we should stop the show or what. I thought someone’s car had broke down in the crowd and needed assistance. Great show , you guys know how to bring the Fun.”

“I’ve been getting a lot of “when the new album?’ We won’t release a new album until Tower Records is back in business, fuck this streaming shit! Joking – Back to recording next week. We threw out a bunch of old tunes and made some new ones that destroy the older ones. I know it’s been a while and you’ve been very patient… it’s in the oven and cooking.”

Fan-filmed video of the aforementioned Red Flare Pit, which happened during the song “Indians”, can be seen below.

Anthrax will return to the concert stage in July 2025 with three shows in The UK. Details are as follows:

July
3 – Cardiff, United Kingdom – Blackweir Fields (with Slayer, Amon Amarth)
5 – Birmingham, United Kingdom – Villa Park (with Black Sabbath, Ozzy Osbourne)
6 – London, United Kingdom – Finsbury Park (with Slayer, Amon Amarth)
