Antropomorphia have unleashed the sinister performance video (created by Maurice Swinkels) “Cancerous Bane” as the first single taken from their new full-length Devoid Of Light. The sixth studio album of the Dutch death metal veterans has been scheduled for release on May 16, 2025.

“The first advance single ‘Cancerous Bane’ represents Devoid Of Light well, although it is one of many faces that our forthcoming album shows,” frontman Ferry Damen writes. “The track opens with a ruthless maelstrom of riffs accompanied by violent wailing screams to set the tone. ‘Cancerous Bane’ refers to a path of spreading blackness, the waging of war against the betrayal of earthly flesh and its futile struggle against the timeless slumber.”
Six years after their acclaimed studio full-length Merciless Savagery (2019), the Dutch death dealers return with their most brutal and dark record so far that is aptly entitled Devoid Of Light.
When Antropomorphia created Devoid Of Light over a period of two and a half years, the recording process was spread out through a much longer process due to a variety of reasons. During the whole time, the band never lost sight of their vision: to combine a wide variety of harsh musical textures including fanatical, white-eyed aggression, misanthropic and nihilistic lyrics, and dark emotions such as anger, despair, and pain among many others into dark and oppressive soundscapes.
