Helloooooo! I didnt see a thread about this amazingly superb documentary that will have old men crying their eyes out. Its not just about crying however, its about that dream that every musician has and how long are you willing to keep dreaming AND will it pay off.

Heres the trailer for you. If I was you I would buy it, these people deserve your money. If anybody does.

Youre gonna love it Dave. I downloaded it, and now Im buying it. So I can show this to the rest f the world. :D

It IS very good, though at times, you can't help but feel really embarassed and sad by what you see. Some of the problems were their own, I mean from the very beginning you can tell that they need a decent manager, DESPERATELY, yet they cling on to that stupid woman. It's not like they will finally now make it, basically it seems to me that they are enjoying a little bit more fame based on the movie but it's almost a joke hearing them play Metal on Metal over and over again. Play fucking Forged in Fire DAMMIT!

Lips is such a likable fellow though!

I watched it in the cinema and it left me totally bummed out, despite the "happy" ending... made me think it'd be better for me to give up the dream now and make some money doing something else while I still can...

I really liked this movie, its awesome. But, yeah, I kinda had that feeling throughout the movie going "well yeah, I wish them the best, but they haven't really gotten anywhere because...their music SUCKS". Im sorry, but if the music actually was good enough, they'd make it. That said, the movie is about alot more than what meets the eye. Its about friendship, never giving up, family, music business in general etc.

Def worth watching!

I enjoyed it, it's like the old adge, never gie up in the face of adversity, shame they are more famous because of the movie rather than their music but as Overthrown said "Their music does suck" but I will give them credit however for never giving up which would have been the easiest thing to do but then again, it does show that they were in it for the love of music rather than the money and fame

pretty much this. Except I thought the movie sucked as much as the music.

Well there are a lot of bands that have great music, but don't make it. Tbf, depending on your definition of "making it", very little bands do. I'd say making it would be being able to live off music as a career, and many of my favourite bands haven't been able to do this.

Also, a lot of people considered Anvil's music to be good, hence why they had some sucesss back in the day.

I haven't actually watched it yet, but I now feel compelled to.

It made me think completely the opposite. Well not necessarily about on a money front but made me want to just make music regardless of anything else.

May I enquire as to your age? The thing is I've been fannying about in bands for 12 years now, and sometimes I worry that I'm soon going to be old and tragic like Anvil. When I was younger that prospect seemed fucking far away and perhaps I would have found it more inspiring than depressing...
