Any Blind Guardian fans?

I honestly don't know that much about Blind Guardian. Except for Frederik, since he's also the drummer for Sinbreed.

Wouldn't really call myself a 'fan' per say. I've heard a few of their songs, liked what I heard, but haven't really gotten around to looking into them more. However, will be seeing them live in december.

I really want to go see them in Dec. also... :( But I can't.

It took me awhile to get into the, but once I did, I fell hard. Imaginations From The Other Side is one of my Top 10 power metal albums (maybe Top 5).

One of my formative power metal moments was when I was listening to And The Story Ends (from Imaginations) and I finally realized WHY I loved the vocals so much: Hansi uses a lot of recorded multi-layered vocals (like Matt does).

Of course, Theocracy will be playing with them at Florida Powerfest II.

I've been a big fan of BG since "Imaginations from the Other Side" was their new album (sheesh, I'm getting old!). It remains one of my favorite albums of all time. "Nightfall" is quite awesome as well. It combines two of my favorite things: Power Metal and Tolkien. :)

Their latest album is really quite good, as well. I think it's up their with Imaginations and Nightfall. "Sacred Worlds" is right on up there with the best songs BG has ever produced.

I think I recall hearing that at least some of the members of BG are Christian. Some of their songs do seem almost Christian in theme. Certainly, none of their songs are anti-Christian, which is always nice.

Just had to add...

I love BG's cover songs. I appreciate they are a band who doesn't take themselves too seriously.

Any metal band that can cover songs like "Mr. Sandman" (and even make a hilarious video for it) deserves my respect. :)

Hahahaha! Wow... that is epic! LOL! The members of BG have good humor... Hahahaha!

I just discovered Blind Guardian last week myself. It took me awhile to get into them as they're so aggressive (I prefer "soft metal" like Avantasia and Nightwish...if that makes any sense at all...) but I found myself replaying "I'm Alive" from their album Imaginations from the Other Side several times over. Nightfall in Middle Earth is also great.

I need to listen to more of their stuff, but would it be fair to call myself a "fan" if I've only heard two albums and loved them? If so, count me in!
