I pretty much listen to all types of metal (Trying to stay away from metalcore for the most part, but if you have a unique metalcore band feel free to share it.). So yah. If you have any metal song/artist recommendations, I would love to hear them. Preferably anything that isn't too generic. Thanks!

oh and the OP, not all -core music is bad, look into grind and crust punk.

Oh, yeah. Grindcore is awesome. And I'll look into crust punk - I've only heard of it a few times but I'll check it out. But besides that, the only kind of -core I really enjoy is thrashcore. Not a huge deathcore/metalcore fan....oh, and stupid question - but how did you get that list of bands at the bottom of your post? And thanks for the recommendations everybody!

deathcore/metalcore nowadays isn't even close to being actual hardcore punk, so avoid it. some good crust bands are:

Dawn of Dreams is fucking awesome.
I remember seeing a partial tracklist from Swano for it a while back. I cant find it.

I remember the first, gigantic track being named Raagoonshinnaah, the name of the god they made up though.
