I'm not from FL but -
I do plan to move down there in the next few months, every summer Orlando is where I stay at. I play drums, not the best, not the fastest but I do know what I'm doing. I also play piano, and can compose stuff music-wise rather than just beat-wise.
My favorite genre has recently become Power metal, Primal Fear being my favorite band. Others include Angra, Hollenthon, Therion, Manowar, Metalium...But, I also greatly enjoy ALL metal! Cryptopsy, ARCH ENEMY or IN FLAMES, Nile, Testament, Slayer, Agalloch, Tristania, Morbid Angel, Incantation, Moonspell...I'm just a fucking tunehead.
I plan to get a set, I've been playing for over four years but have never gotten around to purchasing one. I may just wait until I move south.
