i moved into a new flat and i have to re-arrange my home-setup a bit.

there's two options, getting a small desk like this one

and put the speakers on stands at the side of it,

or buying a wider version of this desk and put the speakers on these:

i tend to put the speakers on the table but i am not sure if this will actually work. the acoustics are fucked up anyways so i'd prefer not to make it even worse

with a wider desk i'd also have enough room to put my PC and a rack under the desk.

what do you think!?

Putting speakers on a desk is a pretty shitty thing to do acoustically, you get the desk resonance (which of course can be reduced through decoupling) and comb filtering from the reflective surface of the desk.
If you position them correctly either option should be fine, I'd go for the smaller desk though - less reflective surface, less space to put pizza boxes. ;)

I would rather buy a bigger desk and drill some holes in there for stands.

I bought two "Galants" from IKEA and I'm totally happy, enough space for racks and stuff. If you have some space I would go for bigger desks, just much more comfortable.

Ah, and I bought these stands:

i am absolutely aware of the drawbacks but i have no other option, also modifying the table is not an option.

i got the stands today and installed them, believe it or not but it works! :D
before that i could feel every frequency going over to the dest and the floor.

it's still there but it's been minimized drastically, even if i turn everything up i barely can feel any vibration getting to the table/floor.
the price is a bit hefty though, it's metal pipes with plastic racks and a bit of rubber, guess you'll always pay for the invention also...
