Awesome, awesome show last night. First time seeing them (was unable to see them on Roll The Bones and Snakes & Arrows). I kept thinking, "Holy shit, there are just 3 guys up there..."
First time I saw them was last night. Good show. How can you complain about anything? Is Geddy perfect? No. But so what. He tried to hit some of the higher notes and he did a really good job. Not always on, but who the hell is? Wasn't there to listen to the albums, but to hear them perform, and that they did.
Only complaint is that they should not be using chimps in that video, as such chimps lead miserable lives and often end up in testing facilities when they are no longer 'cute'.
Just saw them in Dallas last Sun. and they were amazing. As others have stated Geddy had a hard time hitting some of the super high notes on some of the earlier material (parts of "Limelight" and "2112") but otherwise they were flawless musically and really seemed to be having fun onstage. Do not hesitate, this is THE tour to see them on!
My only complaint has nothing to do with the band or the show. The date fell during the State Fair of Texas making getting to the arena, parking and leaving a complete nightmare! Anyone who was at the Dallas show will know what I mean.
Saw this last night. It was great! Geddy's voice cracked a lot though when he strove for the louder, higher parts.
Funny, we were thinking a bit the opposite -- sure, he wasn't perfect, but we were surprised and pleased that he tried for those high notes and (at least to us) largely succeeded. The two guys next to us who drove from Birmingham to see the show were also visibly and vocally surprised; after "Free Will" one of 'em turned to me and said "Wow, Geddy's really on fire tonight!"
Overall, a GREAT show. I was especially pleased to see "Marathon" return -- it was always a very powerful song live -- and also "Presto."
And as for "The Camera Eye".....![]()
Words fail.
