Any Spock's Beard fans here?

I heard them once on a prog METAL radio, but regardless, the song I was listening to must have been live because it was 40 minutes long. I do like them, but what the hell. That's not the right way to get into the band.

I hope this is a topic created by the moderator in order to get a list of people that need to be banned.

Snow is the second worst concept album ever, behind Glass Hammer's "Lex Rex." There's just something offensively bland about Neal Morse's vocals, I can't stand Spock's Beard or Transatlantic as a result.

Spocks beard rules!!! Great band, great musicians. Pick up The Light, Beware Of Darkness, Kindness of Strangers, Snow, V, all fantastic albums. Neal Morse is an insanely talented guy. I love his vocals, thank you.

Beware of Darkness and V are sort of OK, but Snow is pretty terrible and Neal Morse's solo stuff is worse. I just really don't like the whole retro-prog thing,it strikes me as very uncreative and lame I guess (but this probably has something to do with my general intolerance for 70s prog bands). But not as uncreative and lame as the plot from Snow (seriously, I don't see how they avoided getting sued by the makers of 'powder'). AND their clangy bass tone and drilling keyboard drones cause intense damage to my ear drums.

Personally i rate them a lot higher than other bands I bet you wouldn't like, such as the Flower Kings. boring stuff that is imo.

I like Snow. it kinda has a feel-good vibe to it, so does Morse's solo stuff. Ironically, my favorite album by them is Feel Euphoria.

One of my favourite bands. I dig Neal's voice, too. He has the ability to move me in a way no other artist has. Lay It Down from Day For Night is sooooo gorgeous.

I agree that the concept of Snow is lame, though. And the album is too long, imo.

V or Kindness Of Strangers are their best, imo.

Spock's Beard is sweet as hell. The softer stuff gets kinda old but when they start playing some serious shit they are pretty hard to touch.

Let's face it,Spock's Beard is a very talented band. I consider "Snow" to be one of the best concept albums EVER!! So what about the concept, the musicianship is insane. Could be called Prog-Pop? Maybe. Neal Morse is one of the most talented musicians working today. Check out "Testimony" live DVD for complete proof.Subjective, yes, but Lamb lies down on Broadway and the "Floyds" The Wall are way overrated INHO. Steven Wilson and Mikael Akerfeldt are IMO, the two best out there now. BTW, Nick DeVirgilio is a fantastic drummer for the Beard and the now-deceased Kevin Gilbert.Peace

I actually like the flower kings quite a bit more than them. At least they have some musical variety, some of the fusion stuff on "Unfold the Future" was pretty slick. I also am much more impressed by their musicianship (their drummer and bass player on that album and the previous were pretty damn good). And I welcome the general lack of hideous distorted clanky bass tone and the lesser amount of shrieking hammond. The vocals are even crappier though in general I'll admit that :D (though they do get Daniel Gildenlow on some songs, though their last album was pretty much a POS and I don't mean a Pain of Salvation).
