So ive been listenin to UFO a lot lately....they are really growin on me. Any Mogg/Schenker fans out here?? :p

Since way way way way way way way way way back, I used to have a MSG/UFO/Schenker era Scorps cover band back in the day. Ahh those were the times. You know as much as I like Vinnie Moore (and I am a huge fan), I don't feel that he is really fitting with the new incarnation of UFO, specially the way he used his solo material with the new UFO album, that sucked.

I am a hardcore UFO fan, having played in a few UFO tribute bands. I agree that the band is not the same without the almighty Michael Schenker. Interesting that Jason Bonham is in the band now.

Strangers in the Night has to be one of the top 10 live albums ever, along with Pat Travers' Live - Go for What You Know, Deep Purple's Made in Japan, Led Zeppelin's The Song Remains the Same, etc.

Micheal (God) Schenker is probably as could as it gets on Strangers in the Night. What I would give to see that live. I have heard rumor that he is sick. Anyone know more?

I love UFO, they're one of my favorite bands! I actually just saw a DVD that contained live footage and interviews spanning from the early 70's to the late 80's. KILLER STUFF! Last August I saw Michael with the new MSG and he looked a lot better (healthier) than the previous times I've seen him. ...Uli stole the show though!

Saw UFO a couple of times in Seattle and saw FastWay (it was supposed to be UFO) open for Judas Priest in Spokane (Hey Alan, I think this is the show where Denny tossed that guy) with Pete Way (UFO) and "Fast" Eddie Clark(Motorhead!!!!!). Great stuff too bad they never really made it on this side of the pond.

Yes, I saw UFO with Uli Jon Roth on 28/2/2004 (I think this was the date) too. I couldn't enjoy UFO (though they totally kicked ass; they played classics like "Doctor, doctor", "Rock bottom", "Love to love" etc.), just because earlier the stage belonged to Uli. Oh, God! What a show! Uli played pieces of Vivaldi's ''Four Seasons" (actually, it was a... "Metamorphosis" of the ''Four Seasons") on his Sky guitar AND (I still cannot believe it) "Sails of Charon","Virgin Killer","Fly to the raibow"!!! :headbang: I'll remember this show forever!

I don't remember that one, but I didn't go to that show.

Are you saying UFO never made it on this side of the pond? Hmmm.....I would have to say that is not true. There are tons of UFO fans. Many a guiatar player will tell you they were a big influence on them. Of course, they would probably be older guitar players, but then UFO is an older band.

I just meant they never really got big in terms of headlining arena tours. They really had a great musicians buzz but they didn't get a lot of radio support and their record sales in the US where disappointing for the most part.

"Strangers In The Night" is perhaps the greatest relatively unknown live album ever made. Everyone always thinks of "Kiss Alive" or "Frampton Comes Alive".
