Any Unearth fans?

they wanted vox pretty dry , personally I was pushing for a tad more but they felt it made thema tad more brutal. I sat the vox in where I felt they should be.

Thanks Andy,.. that's what the band I just did said!
Two singers must be right eh ;)

Sounds fun. I thought Terry Date did a great job on the last one considering how they wanted it to sound. He did a great job on delivering a live or more natural feel without losing much if any of the necessities of a modern metal mix. This however is definitely more my expectation for this band however. Still has a good energy but with an upgrade in the crotch region.

I think it sounds AMAZING!

Unearth is definitely one of my favorite bands... they kick ass live too, Buz plays just like a friggin' machine, and Trevor, IMO sounds much better live than how he does recorded

I think this has a feel more like I what I would call true "metalcore" in that it definitely has a tough guy hardcore style vocal in parts as well as hardcore drums and guitar riffs (most notably on the riff after the intro/verse riff) but then you have some melodic metal lines and harmonies and solos (and the requisite breakdown). But, I think nowadays people associate metalcore more with fashion and cliches rather than actually putting the 2 styles of music together. While this song has elements of those cliches (namely the breakdown and the chorus), I think it stands on the marriage of the 2 styles a little more surefooted than most tight pant/girl hair bands making up most metalcore these days.

From a production standpoint, I think this sounds awesome. Guitar tones sound nice, are they VHT?

Also, Andy in a couple recent releases it seems like you aren't reamping...Is this because the band wants it this way, or are you finding the recorded tones to be satisfactory for your mix goals?
